cross-dressing lipstick thief flees cvs
A cross-dressing man was arrested Monday for trying to steal lipstick from the CVS Pharmacy at the Athens Plaza shopping center on North Avenue, Athens-Clarke police said.
Gabriel Johnson, who was wearing women's clothing when an employee saw him trying to steal a tube of lipstick valued at $4.49, ran from the store and was caught by police after he crossed North Avenue and headed toward Garden Apartments, according to police.
Johnson's hair was styled like a woman's, and he wore white and pink shorts and red slippers.
Officers charged the 40-year-old Odd Street man with theft by shoplifting and obstruction of a law enforcement officer, both misdemeanors, police said.
