not the greatest deal in the world, but i try to get some nexxus whenever they have a deal on it. it would have been better if i got the $7.99 nature's bounty instead (overage!), but they were out.
i tried to use the $5/$30 medicare coupon. it would not scan at all and they tried entering the manual code which did not work either. they seemed to be at a loss of what to do, so i just used one of my sunset coupons instead.

i don't think my $5/$30 beeped (just printed it today) but i think the cashier entered it manually because it wouldn't scan. if it didn't scan there must have been something wrong with the coding because it was printed perfectly clear.
i didn't bring any ragu coupons with me because i was planning to get all skippy for the hellman's deal - but they didn't have enough skippy on the shelf. still a great deal.

i started out buying 4 early sunday edition newspapers (or so i thought). they are usually $1.50 each, when they rang up $.75 i added another 4 papers so that i would still have the same total.
when i got home i took another look at my newspapers and realized that some of them are actually saturday papers, although the covers are almost identical. the cashier must have charged me for all saturday papers instead of the early editions. whoever put the papers together must not have been able to tell the difference either since the sunday comics, coupons, and ads were inserted into the saturday papers as well as the early sunday editions!
as you can see from the photo, some of the papers were missing the redplum insert. i had checked them beforehand, but when i added 4 more papers i had to take some incomplete ones because there weren't enough papers left with both inserts! (still a great deal though, since i was expecting to pay the same price for half the number of newspapers.)
oh, if you haven't seen the new eb yet - they have redesigned them to be a bit smaller!

i had meant to throw in a filler to reach $20 before tax, but i completely forgot. the $5/$20 still went through though.
the $2 off 2 gold emblem nut crt would not go through. the cashier said it was because of my being $.05 short of a $20 subtotal - but that really doesn't make any sense. i read on slickdeals that others have had the same problem combining the nut crt with the $5/$20 and the theory is that the crt is incorrectly coded as $2/$10. so in order to use both without beeps, your subtotal would have to be $30 or more.

i had already purchased one pepsi 2 liter on my boyfriend's card so i should have gotten $1 eb for buying the second one today. but instead 2 separate tallies printed at the end of the receipt with one towards each! i guess since they have the pepsi deal in this week's ad it is coming up as a separate deal and overriding the monthly deal.
i'll email cvs customer service and see if they will issue the eb to me. if they do, my cost will change to $6.55.

i had been saving this raincheck for a time like this when i have eb expiring and not much in the way of deals available! so it worked out very nicely! but i still have another $10 eb to spend by the end of the week, and no more emergency rainchecks to use.
i also got credit for the pepsi towards the october deal; Pepsi 2 liter Get $1 EB wyb 2/$3 Limit 5.
the cashier actually scanned the green bag tag itself, so i got credit for using a reusable bag today (which i did), but she didn't scan the back of the cardboard backing to charge me for it. it shows our "green bag tag uses" under the weekly tally at the end of the receipt...

not the greatest deal in the world, but i try to get some nexxus whenever they have a deal on it. it would have been better if i got the $7.99 nature's bounty instead (overage!), but they were out.
